Career Development

Amr has over 26 years of experience in several fields and industries with internationally and locally renowned companies and entities. He has extensive knowledge in several sectors through his work such as petrochemical sector with SABIC, FMCG sector with Unilever Arabia and Ba’asshan Group, government sector with Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority and Economic Cities Authority, and finally management consultancy sector with KAFAA. His experiences began with operational excellence and project management in factories and sites, and it evolved into strategic planning and business development as a member of the leadership team of the companies and organizations. Amr is widely aware of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its programs and realizations offices through his work in several projects associated with it.

  • Supporting the startup of a shared services company through the development of the operating strategy and administrations policies and procedures. (2021)
  • Developing an Operating strategy to a division within a development authority concerned with one of KSA mega projects. (2020)
  • Developing key HR elements for a development authority (JD, Competency Framework, Job families, Career Path model, HR P&P and KPIs Database and library) as per part of developing the governance model and institutional framework .(2020)
  • Developing controls for the inclusion and exclusion of national products related to the construction sector to come up with the list of mandatory products within the government procurement and competition draft under the supervision of a government agency concerned with increasing local content.   • Transforming and operating the project management office of one of the housing program initiatives, and linking it strategically with the program including the  relationship management with the competent authorities intersecting with the initiative. (2019)
  • Developing a manual for designing and conducting workshops for one of the initiatives of the private sector development plan under the umbrella of a government agency supporting the private sector. (2019)
  • Designing and implementing workshops between the private sector concerned with national industry and public sector under the umbrella of a government agency specialized in the field of industry. (2018)

  • Establishing Port sector and Real Estate and Municipal Affairs Agency in the Economic Cities Authority, in addition to developing the targeted operating model and the skills and capabilities required operationally. (2011 – 2014)
  • Developing energy sector strategy and linking it to the strategy of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, and supervising the implementation of all projects under the responsibility of the sector. (2008 – 2011)
  • Achieving the Operational Excellence Certificate (TPM) for Unilever’s Personal and Home Care Products Factory as the first factory in the Gulf to receive this award, in addition to achieving approximately $5 million operational savings under the program’s umbrella. (1999 – 2007)
  • Working and participating in the design, construction and startup of “Ibn Rushd” factory, one of SABIC’s companies in Yanbu Industrial City. (1995 – 1999)
